Gabrielle Gossip

Gabrielle Gossip is a blog page set up to update our friends and family on Gabby's condition. Gabrielle was born with a major birth defect called OEIS or Cloacal Exstropy. It is an extremely rare birth defect only affecting children 1 in every 400,000 live births. Cloacal exstrophy affects the organs of the abdominal area (mainly the bladder and intestines) where they are displaced to the outside of the body cavity. The birth defect is fixed over the course of several surgeries.

PICC line- check!

Hey everyone! Gabrielle had her PICC line put in this morning. It went pretty well, lots of tears. Bart received training on how to flush the line with Heparin. He has flushed it once with the help of home health and is about to flush it again. After sleeping the anesthesia off Gabrielle has been back to her normal self. The picture attached is her PICC line certificate. The line was too long so they attached the remaining line to the certificate. We will be checking into the hospital in the morning.
